Q To begin the process of developing a personal leadership plan, in module five you conducted a gap assessment by responding to the following questions: Describe your ideal self as a leader and the timeframe for developing the skills necessary for success. What skills must be acquired to become your ideal self? Based on leadership assessments, what qualities need improvement? What opportunities must be present to learn the skills? How do you want to be supported as you develop your plan? What are the principles you live by? In this module, you will create a personal leadership development plan using the findings from your gap assessment. The components of your plan include: Introduction Share a bit about yourself by answering the following questions. Are you currently in a formal leadership role? If so, what is your title and how long have you been in formal leadership roles? If you are not in a formal leadership role, what are your aspirations or goals for securing a leadership role whether it be in the workplace or your community? Share a bit about what you currently do for a living if you work outside the home. What is your current job or position? What position would you like to have 5 years from now? 10 years from now? What are your professional and career goals? In what field do you currently work? Do you intend to stay working in the same field? If not, what field do you intend to pursue? Summarize your gap assessment Provide an overview of what you learned from the various assessments you completed throughout the quarter and in the course. Feel free to include insights you have gained about yourself from other sources. Maybe you completed assessments as part of your job or you have a mentor or coach that has provided you feedback and suggestions for leadership skills and qualities you have to enhance and those that are your strength. State your leadership principles as a guide for your development Describe yourself as an ideal leader Include an image to represent your leadership growth from where you are to where you want to be Identify three or more leadership competencies that you want to develop For each competencies explain why you want to develop State your expected outcome Create an action plan for each competency State three or more actions you take to develop the competencies (be specific) Describe what experiences will enable you to gain skills Explain how you will address challenges that you may encounter Identify who will support your leadership growth Provide a timeframe for accomplishment State recommendations for future leadership development Summary and conclusion Your Personal Leadership Plan Part I should be 8-10 pages using APA format. Incorporate concepts derived from the readings and three additional scholarly sources to support your plan. Cite all references using current APA format. You need a cover page and a reference page for sources used. Be creative with your plan and use tables and graphics to develop your plan. As always, follow APA format for labeling tables and figures. Refer to the Final Project Personal Leadership Plan Rubric for guidelines and grading. You Personal Leadership Development Plan is due Sunday, March 17th at 11:59 p.m.
